Sizes
We offer the broadest gauge range of biaxially oriented nylon films in the world. We can produce film from 0.32 gauge thru 1.00 gauge (8 microns thru 25 microns), which gives us the ability to tailor a packaging lamination specifically suited to the application involved. Additionally, this allows for economic savings compared to other manufacturers.
Exceptional Mechanical Strength
Our process results in film having superior mechanical properties, such as puncture-, impact-, burst- and tear-resistance.
High Abrasion and Flex-Crack Resistance
Compared to single-layer mono or biaxially oriented nylon film, BOPA films offer superior protection against pin-holing and a resultant loss of barrier.
The combination of superior flex-crack and inherent high abrasion resistance makes BOPA the ideal choice for packaging applications from freezing to steam sterilization.

Laminating Printing and Metallizing
American Biaxis’ co-ex flat die, two-step orientation system, equipped with automated continuous process and gauge control, allows us to supply BOPA films with +/- 3% gauge tolerance. This results in an ideal surface for even the most complex print registration requirement.
Utilizing the newest Biax Nylon production equipment in North America, we can corona treat both sides of our product line when necessary. With the ability to corona treat one or both sides, we can give our films extremely high surface energy for excellent ink, lamination and metal adhesion.
Gas and Aroma Barrier
BOPA films provide an excellent gas and aroma barrier. These exceptional barrier properties come from a combination of resin selection and our three layer co-ex technology.
Chemical Resistance
BOPA films offer excellent chemical resistance to many organic solvents, as well as to fertilizers and numerous other commercial and industrial chemicals.
